Stash Checkpoint

How did June fly by so fast?  We’ve hit the stash busting challenge mid-point.  I’d love to have more stash busted (and more quilts finished), but overall I’m happy with my numbers.  If I end the year with 25 yards busted, I’m doing good.

I’ve noticed that I don’t feel compelled to buy fabric anymore.  I can go to a quilt shop and look at the shelves of bolts without feeling cheated by leaving it all there.  Even when I think I need new fabric to finish a project, an acceptable alternative shows up once I look through my stash long enough.  I’ve also found that colors change over time, so matching that green from the 1990s may not happen.  Another good reason to use up that stash!

July should bring a few finishes to increase the “out” numbers.  I will also have another UFO update later this week.  I did not buy or use any fabric last week, as I only count stash as busted when I finish a project.

Fabric in this week:  0 yards

Fabric in YTD:  9.5 yards

Fabric out this week:  0 yard

Fabric out YTD:  21.75 yards
