From Plain to Painted

I’m working on the Random quilt today between severe thunderstorms.  I don’t leave my sewing machine plugged in during storms, serge protected or not.  Some chances aren’t worth taking.

I cut out the pieces for one block and laid them out to see how it would look.  I do this when I sew up EQ designs because things don’t always look as good in real life as they do on the computer.  All the tone on tone fabric made the block too plain, so I stamped blue paint on the blue fabric to jazz it up.

I LOVE this Ultramarine Blue paint.  Everything I’ve painted with it turned out great.  It’s “my” color.

The stamped blue fabric with the printed purple fabric adds just enough interest to the block.  The light purple in the middle is the fabric I painted a couple weeks ago.

Please bear with me as I learn to use the new camera.  The top picture turned out great, the bottom one not so much.  Learning is fun, right?
