School Sewing

Every year the school requires students to cover their books.  We buy those stretchy covers at the store, and if you rip them a little you can usually get them on the book.

Not this year.  No amount to pulling could make those covers fit his books.  I’ve covered schoolbooks with paper bags in the past, which lasts about two weeks.  I needed a more permanent solution.

I found this tutorial and sewed fabric book covers.  I made the blue one first.  It took three times as long as the camouflage one and doesn’t fit nearly as well.  It always takes one to get the kinks worked out.

The best part?  The fabric came from very old stash.
