I didn’t forget about the blog – really! Sometimes I don’t know where the days go. First I had a stretch where nothing creative happened, and then I hit a patch where I had plenty to say and no time to say it.
I’m heading down to my mom’s house today to bring back another load of stuff and clean up all those “what were we thinking?” messes. When we moved mom out in September we left dirty dished in the sink and most of the food in the refrigerator. Honestly. What WERE we thinking?
No way am I loading all that stinky garbage in my vehicle and keeping it company for the three-hour drive home. I’m bagging it all and throwing it in the chest freezer. At some point we’ll get a dumpster and we can throw it out then.
I’m taking my ipod and portable DVD player and catching up on some of the things I never have time to do at home. My XM radio is back on for free and I can listen to that on the drive down. By the time I’m done, I’ll have turned this day into a mini-retreat.
