I made a batch of brownies yesterday using Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Brownie Baking Mix.
My sister in South Carolina gave it to me, but I know she didn’t buy it at Trader Joe’s. I can’t remember the name of the store. I just know we don’t have those stores here.
You have to add egg, oil and water to the mix. It makes an eight-inch square pan.
Overall, I give it a thumbs up. The brownies have the taste and the consistency of Duncan Hines chewy brownies. I did notice that after eating one I had gritty feeling in the back of my throat. It’s nothing a drink of water won’t solve, but I haven’t noticed that with any other gluten free products I’ve tried. Maybe I didn’t mix it long enough and the liquid did not fully absorb into the dry ingredients. I’ll keep that in mind for next time.
Now I think a trip to Trader Joe’s is in order to see if they have this and other mixes in stock.
I am such a brownie lover and I had no idea these were available. Thanks for sharing these gluten free brownies
Trader Joe’s! Let me know if you want me to take a look for you. I’m practically in the birthplace of Trader Joe’s, after all …
