Curved Piecing

I’m in a group that meets once a month to try new techniques or make small projects that are always on the “someday” list.  One month we tried curved piecing.

I finished my sample so that I could use it this Sunday to practice different machine appliqué techniques.

Curved piecing isn’t really that hard.  I didn’t fall in love with it, but I can see myself using it in future projects.

I think the lightest pink is too light for the other fabrics.  I was going to paint it to darken it up, but decided to wait to see what it looks like with appliqué all over it.  If I still don’t like it, I’ll cut it up and turn it into a charity top for the Children’s Hospital.

It’s way out of character for me to piece something and then cut it up to piece it into something else, but I can’t seem to let go of the idea.  It sounds incredibly fun, and I can’t wait to have at it.
