Six Months Later

No fabric bought or used this week, but not because I didn’t try.

After the no quilt shop fiasco I decided to start a handwork project.  It was either that or go crazy bored.  Getting a start on anything handwork will be the only thing I get done on the short list this month.

Following the theme for the vacation, I spread out the kit and realized that I didn’t have everything I needed.  I don’t know if you can tell in the picture, but some of the pieces are stuffed and I did not have any fiberfil.

Christmas-bow-1No way was I going to spend an hour and a half driving to the nearest Joann’s/Michael’s/Hobby Lobby to get some.  I have bags of it at home.  Desperate times require creative thinking.

Instead I drove to the CVS Pharmacy in the closest one-stoplight town and bought a bag of cotton balls.  It seemed like there was a CVS on every corner.  I doubt I’ll ever wash this project, so cotton balls should hold up just fine.  The pieces are so small I might be able to do the whole kit only using two of them.  Next time I’ll open the package BEFORE we leave.
