Did you think I dropped my goal of working through The Visual Dance this year?
I didn’t forget about it. I leave the book where I see it every day so it doesn’t get buried by life’s debris.
Exercise two in Chapter Three calls for designing a quilt using only one shape. I did more than design it.
Squares aren’t the most interesting shape. Color and value make or break the quilt.
I was in that place where I had to sew something, nothing too complicated, but something. I pulled an envelope of squares out of the drawer. I received them as part of a swap several years ago. I have enough squares left to make two or three more small quilts, in different colors of course. I have ideas for a few variations.
I’ll do simple quilting using pink thread, then on to the next.
