This is easy. I finished nothing in June, so the Short List stands.
We had too much going on last month. Add mom going in the hospital and the refrigerator replacement and that killed any possible free time. Some months are like that.
For new readers, the Short List is something old (UFO), something new, something painted, something abstract and a handwork project.
Something Old: The still life from the Esterita Austin class. I have the thread, decided on a quilting design and basted the quilt.
Something new: I chose a sketch out of my idea notebook to make into a quilt. For lack of a better name, I refer to it as “the church quilt”. Long story, but the design has nothing to do with church or anything you’d find in a church. It’s just one of those weird things that makes sense to me.
Painting/Dyeing: Layering color. I was inspired by the paintings of Gerhard Richter. I’m ready to baste this one.
Abstract: The first Playtime method is called Hopscotch. Think of little blocks of fabric sewn into little logs of fabric with funky angles on both the logs and the blocks.
Handwork: The Craftsy hand appliqué class project. I’m working on block five of six.
I expect to finish the appliqué blocks and the UFO this month. Any progress beyond that is a bonus. I have a few days off that may help, depending on what else happens those days.
I’m ready to finish a few of these projects just so I can move on to something different.
