Last month I changed to an abbreviated Short List with only three categories: Something old (UFO), something new and creative play. I’m much happier with fewer list items and completed three of the four items on the November list.
The memory quilt now lives in its new home and I will mail my sister’s quit this weekend. For November creative play, I experimented with the decorative stitches on my newer Pfaff. I barely scratched the surface.
The December list comes with a bit of a story.
Something old #1 is the Butterfly Quilt, my only carry over from last month.
Something old #2 is a project I call Bells. The bell mini-quilts are finished except for adding some decorative stitching. I want to continue playing with the decorative stitches on my machine, and this is a great place to do it.
Something new #1 is the Church Quilt, resurrected from the October Short List. I really need to rename this one because it has nothing to do with church. The design looks more like paper pieced roses, although I plan to stay away from a flower theme.
Something new #2 comes from sketches I made years ago using rectangular four patch blocks. I have no idea where this is going. It may even team up with something new #1 and become a whole different idea. Won’t that be fun?
Something new #2 may shift to the creative play category. If not, I’ll do something else.
My goal this month is to finish one more UFO. At the end of the month I’ll post a tally of what I finished this year using The Short List system. I’m rather pleased with the numbers.
I’m also thinking about 2016 projects and goals, but that will be a post for another day.
