September Short List

I can’t get my mind around it being September already. We had such cool weather it didn’t feel like summer, and now it’s over.
That means it’s time for another Short List. The Short List includes something old (UFO), something new, a handwork project and Creative Play. I started using this system in November 2014 to keep myself focused. I add and delete categories over time as my interests change.
My only August finish was the collage/coupon caddy.
Something Old – I’m quilting and embellishing the Snippet Butterfly top. It’s my oldest UFO.

Something New – The cat quilt top is done and next in line to be quilted.

Handwork – I made a little progress on the second pillowcase and will keep it on the list.

Creative Play – I have the first round of the surface design round robin to work on for Art Quilt Group.

Learning QAL – I could combine this with Creative Play, but I’m not comfortable experimenting on fabric belonging to someone else. Instead I’ll experiment with what a lot of people call “crumb quilting”. This month I will try the pieced technique, although there are fused versions that put me back in the collage world. I’ll save that method for another month. I’ve made so many scrap quilts that the bins have mostly small odd shaped pieces. I’d like to start using them up.

The leader and ender project is ongoing.
September is another busy month, but I have hopes of finishing more things than I don’t.
I’m linking to the September Learning QAL.
