Sunday Stash October 1, 2017

No fabric in or out this week.
We were on vacation and I didn’t take my sewing machine. I took the embroidered pillowcase and now the second one is finished.
pillowcase 2 done
I decided to crochet the edgings on these and pulled out thread and a very small crochet hook. I found a couple patterns online, one way more complicated than the other. We’ll see how that works out for me.
I pulled the fabric for the cat quilt back, but didn’t get it sewn together. That will be a bust for next week.
Once again we vacationed in a place where there were no quilt shops. How does that happen every year? I’m probably better off for it.
Thanks to everyone that linked up last week. We had a great turnout.

  1. Beautiful embroidery on your pillowcase – my grandmother made several of those when I was younger and I cherish the ones I have from her.

Your pillowcase is going to be beautiful. I remember having similar style pilllowcases when we were little. I wonder now if my mother made them or if they were gifts.

  3. Kate says:

Very pretty pillow cases. I usually default to embroidery projects when we travel. They are just easier to transport and manage.

We always vacation where there are knit or quilt shops, but I never seem to get around to going to them! This last Florida trip I made the effort and was very happy at what I found. So I need to just get off the beach and go.

Your embroidery is very pretty. I remember embroidering some similar pillowcases when I was young. I wonder what happened to those?

Your pillowcase looks as great as I thought it would. Crocheted edgings will be beautiful. Tradition doesn’t lie!

Such pretty pillowcases and your work is beautiful! My fabric stash is not growing (yea!), but my yarn stash took some mysterious leaps and bounds! Thank you for sharing!
