February Scrap Attack Project and March Goal

My February goal was to make a collage from scraps. I didn’t quite finish it.
birds with quiltingI still need to applique one bird wing and the branch and quilt everything below the branch.
This project was way out of my comfort zone. My learning moment came when I realized I should have embellished the fabric BEFORE attaching everything with fusible or glue. I ended up painting on it twice.
I found the background too plain without paint and crayon. I won’t make that mistake again.
Well, maybe I will but at least I know it’s fixable.
And because this is supposed to be fun and not a source of stress, my March goal is to finish this project. There’s too much going on in March to start a second scrap project. One of the projects on my list will have to carry into next year.
I’m linking up with Sara at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Progress is progress even if you didn’t quite get a far along as you wanted. I love those red birdies. It’s going to be a very pretty mini.

It’s all about learning trying and learning something new. I’m proud of you and it’s a great project.

  3. What a sweet art piece!! Not such a bad lesson to learn with regard to the background. I think I learn something with each new piece. One example? Soda pop can pull tabs as hangers for small quilts. It works!!

When I first say this post, my initial reaction was “Oh NO! She’s ruined it!” And then when I looked closer, I realized that your pins are what is ruining the picture, WHEW!!! If I ignore the pins, knowing they will eventually be gone. I’m liking this – a LOT!
