May Short List And OMG

The months go by so fast! In April I finished the name tag (scrap project) and Random (UFO and OMG). I also finished piecing the Safehouse top.
Warmer weather finally arrived, and I’m not sure what that means for my sewing time. It will all depend on how much it rains.
The Short List includes something old (UFO), something new, a handwork project, a scrap project and a project in the design phase. I started using this system in November 2014 to keep myself focused. I add and delete categories over time as my interests change.
Something Old – When it comes time to pick a new UFO, I never know which one it will be. I change my mind two or three times. I surprised myself by settling on the Poppy quilt. I started it in a class in 2010. About four years ago I pulled it out and finished fusing the pieces. It’s hung on my design wall ever since. In May I will add highlights with paint and start appliqueing the pieces down. This quilt is my OMG for May.

RWB safehouseHandwork – I’m embroidering the Christmas bags. I’d like to finish a bag this month.

Scrap Project – I picked a scrap bag and am designing a table runner to use the fabrics.

Design – The table runner for the scrap project above. The design is coming along-slowly.
I am still working on the leader and ender project.
I don’t know how it keeps happening, but here’s another list with no piecing on it. There’s plenty of machine time though. It will have to do.
I’m linking to Elm Street Quilts for my One Monthly Goal.

Those flowers are lovely. Good luck.

  5. What a great system for keeping yourself on track. I may try that since I have a hard time staying focused too. Your poppy project is beautiful and what lovely embroidery. Good luck achieving your goals.

I had to go back and look at your Safehouse quilt again. It will make a good quilt for a boy. Hubby’s favorite pattern is Around the World. You are so generous with your quilting!
