The Clean Corner

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of the “guild corner”.
guild cornerTalk about a hot mess of stuff I’m storing for my quilt guild.
I pulled everything out and sorted through it. I removed a stack of stuff I’m taking to the next meeting. I know all those things are leaving my house soon and not coming back.
Then I went to Home Depot and bought a shelf. It’s sturdy enough to hold the weight of fabric. Not only was I able to get the rest of the guild’s items on the shelf, but some of my own items too. The quilt on the top shelf will also go to the next meeting and find a new forever home.
guild corner2The best part – I can open the closet doors without moving a pile of boxes. The closet will be the next thing I tackle in the sewing room.
Such a small change made a big difference. I feel so much better about sewing in there. I look at that corner every time I press something, and I’m so glad I cleaned it up.
There may be hope for the sewing room yet.

Amazing what a little bit of decluttering can do for the soul! 🙂

I love when I clean an area. There is great satisfaction in the accomplishment. Plus it opens possibilities for further organizing!

I am trying to keep my surfaces clean, but it’s hard. Things just seem to pile up when I am not in there. I don’t know who’s doing it though. LOL!

Yay! A little at a time!

Yeah for decluttering! It takes so much effort, but the pay off is definitely worth it.
