Sunday Stash April 14, 2019

No change in the numbers this week.
I’ve been fussing around finding a back for the QAL top. I can’t tell you how many pieces of fabric I pulled out that were a couple inches too small. Frustrating! I keep telling myself I need to go through the stash and pull out all the odds and ends pieces, but I haven’t done it yet. It would make fabric selection a lot easier.
Because posts without pictures are boring, here’s an update on the penguin cross stitch.
penguinsxsI felt like working on it this week and made good progress.

I tried to pin a piece of paper to my folded fabric on how much was in the piece, but I never kept up with it. It would make selecting fabrics for projects so much easier.

Well, I’ve never seen a floating penguin, until now! LOL

    The penguins are really cute!

I almost always piece my backs now. Usually 4 smaller pieces. One in each corner. Even better if they are not all the same size! With pieces like yours that are just a few inches short, I will piece something off centered to get the length I need. Makes it look like you planned it that way! I was able to back two whole quilts with 30’s print fabric FQ’s that I needed to get rid of. It’s a great stash buster for sure!
