July 2019 Short List

Another month, another list.
I have a busy schedule this month with some travel. Aside from the long holiday weekend, it doesn’t look good for The Short List this month.
I finished one project in June, the hoop art challenge.
The Short List includes something old (UFO), something new, a handwork project, and creative play. I started using this system in November 2014 to keep myself focused. I add and delete categories as my interests change.
Something Old – The 9 patch leader and ender quilt. Will I ever get it basted and quilted?
Something New – I’m ready to baste the 30s top. I’d like to keep the momentum up and finish it this month.
30s topHandwork – The cross stitch penguins. I’m stitching the last penguin.
penguins2Creative Play – This category is a bit of a dilemma. So many ideas, such limited time. I’m going to really stretch the definition here. I want to make the Gemma tank, which is a Creative Bug class. Although I don’t usually think of clothes sewing as “creative”, the pattern does include a technique I’ve never tried. I’m going with it.
My goal is to finish both the tank and the 30s quilt this month. I’ll make the quilt my OMG and link to Elm Street Quilts. After that I’ve promised myself I will finish the 9 patch and ignore all other projects.
