Sunday Stash July 14, 2019

I was on the road this week to Quilt National and Amish Country. There were quite a few quilt shops and fabric stores involved, along with a number of thrift shops.
The stash expanded, but it could have been a lot worse. We’d stopped at several places and the only fabric I bought was the neutral pumpkins, on clearance for less than $2 a yard.
I thought I was in the clear for the trip, heading for the cashier with nothing in hand at our last thrift on Friday. My friend had fabric, and the cashier said she should look through the things she was pricing before checking out. Those “things” filled a shopping cart and were mostly batiks at $2.50 a yard. It took huge restraint to only pick up four cuts and a fat quarter pack. I could have bought a lot more.
fabric haul QNI told the cashier you get kicked out of the quilter’s club if you leave batiks on the shelf at that price. The adds pretty much killed me having positive numbers this year.
At least I had some usage with the Gemma top finish.
Fabric Added: 46.25
Fabric Used: 4.25 yards
Net Fabric In: 42 yards

Yep, when the prices are that good you just have to take advantage. Beautiful batiks.

Wow! That was a great price on batiks! You certainly used great restraint! Beautiful colors!

Pretty fabrics! You couldn’t leave them behind.

Such pretty fabric. If you are using it, don’t stress over it. I have to remind myself of that when I happen to buy more than I thought I would.

Nice fabric choices! I made a baby quilt all from stash fabrics. The binding is iffy though so if I see something that might work better I might have to buy it. Passed up a 60% off Blueprint deal too. Although I have until Midnight…

  7. Laura says:

I agree, no stressing! The fabrics are beautiful and make you happy, and the price was right. All good!
