What is it with batiks this year?
My Guild had their annual garage sale yesterday. I bought a book, a pattern, some batting and a batik bundle, all for under $6. The batiks were tied together. I couldn’t tell what was there except that it was all red with one green piece (not a batik). All together it was 4 yards.
GAAQG saleThis is my third batik haul this year. It must be the theme for 2019.
You’d think being hopelessly in the hole would be discouraging, but it’s actually motivated me to sew more. I have projects lined up in the quilting queue I will finish in the next few months. The net adds will go way down.
Fabric Added: 50.25
Fabric Used: 4.25 yards
Net Fabric In: 46 yards

It’s hard to pass up such wonderful deals, especially on batiks! I look forward to seeing what you make with them.

I’m guessing that a lot of quilters have filled up on batiks, their stashes are overflowing, and now the shops are having trouble moving them.

  3. chrisknits says:

I just bought 2 yards yesterday, but not at that great price!

I have long been a batik lover – probably 30 years I’ve used them in my quilts, just mixing them in with everything else for piecing, appliqué by hand (I think they are wonderful for that, but some people don’t, and I don’t know why.), and anything I would do with any other fabric. I love the hand and the designs and the colors – just everything, even the ones from India! That was an amazing price for your package, so I wouldn’t feel at all bad about buying them!

  6. Kate says:

Those reds are very pretty and the price was certainly right.
