October 2019 Short List

September was a fast month with vacation and busy weekends. Less sewing got done than planned, but I finished the 9 patch fade quilt. I plan to make a better showing this month.
The Short List includes something old (UFO), something new, a handwork project, and creative play/design. I started using this system in November 2014 to keep myself focused. I add and delete categories as my interests change.
Something Old – I bought this orphan project at my Guild’s garage sale two years ago. It’s not my style or colors, but the pattern intrigues me.
stripes UFOSomething New – The Holly Runner needs binding to finish it. Since that won’t take long I’ll also make pillowcases from the Christmas village fabrics.
pillowcase fabricHandwork – The cross stitch penguins. I made good progress while on vacation.
penguins91119Creative Play – It’s time to finish the quilt with the cross stitch bear blocks. I embroidered the blocks three or four years ago. I bought sashing fabric and planned it out before packing it away. I want to play with decorative stitches and trapunto on this quilt.
I expect to finish both new projects this month. The Holly Runner was my OMG last month and will be again this month. I’m linking to Elm Street Quilts.
