Around The Sewing Room

All sorts of things going on in the sewing room. I don’t know that so much activity does me any favors, but so it goes.
I finished embroidering bear block #3 and started #4. I’ll hold off on pictures until I start setting the blocks together.
At Art Quilt Group Tuesday we made these folded fabric ornaments.
folded starMy stitching was off and a few points turned out wonky, but it was a first attempt. I think it’s begging for paint and hope to play with that this weekend.
I started organizing my fabric. I store fabric EVERYWHERE and have to look at least four places to find what I need. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and Pat Sloan issued a challenge on her site. I figured this was a good a time as any to start. This is a long term project.
I was stunned to see just how much fabric I had in one drawer. It definitely kept me away from the sale at the LQS today.
I’m basting the rail fence top today. I need to get it finished and move on to other things.
Hope everyone else is finding some quilty time this weekend!

I agree with Pat…don’t store fabric in totes (but then again, I have seen photos where that seems to work for some). I like my stash out where I can see it. It is stacked on shelves, but I can see what I have, and hopefully I use it because it isn’t ‘out of sight…out of mind’. My sewing space can use some tidying up right now, too, but I think that will be a January project when work slows down a bit.
Besides…I use the excuse, ‘I am building for retirement’. Ha, ha!
