Sunday Stash April 12, 2020

No fabric in this week. As the lockdown drags on I have a growing appreciation for my stash.
I used a quarter yard of fabric for masks. We’ve all seen enough mask pictures to last us a lifetime. I took a pass on posting pictures of mine.
SS yellowI finished quilting around the bears and will move on to the sashing. I sketched out a quilting design, but something about it bothered me. Once I rethought the quilting and came up with another plan I got my motivation back.
Anyone else ever slog through a project because a design decision wasn’t working? I find if I can’t make steady progress, that’s usually the reason. Sometimes a quilt will scream at me that I have it all wrong. Other times it just quietly glares at me. I’ve spent a lot of time staring at this quilt wishing it would speak up.
bears quiltedI should finish it in the next week or so and we can both move on.

I am very thankful for my stash too.
    The bears are adorable!

I laughed when I read about the glaring quilts. To me, my unfinished projects tend to look at me reproachfully. I like the bright blue sashing with the bubble print.

Your quilting on the blocks looks wonderful. I have been stalled with quilting design before. Sometimes I can see what it is that bothers me, but sometimes I can’t and plow on through and those are the quilts that never really thrill me.

I have been appreciating my stash these past few weeks too and haven’t felt the need to buy any. Even though I am just nibbling away at my stash, I am glad to see it decreasing.

I have experienced the quilt screaming at me, as well as the quiet glare. They are both equally annoying! Congrats on slogging through and figuring it.
