A Stitch Finish

I finished stitching the Brazilian embroidery piece.

This was my first attempt at the fancy stitches. Given that, I’m happy with how it came out.
The threads bled when I rinsed out the water soluable marker. I got a lot of the stain out with q-tips and blue Dawn dish soap. I may give that another shot or finish it in a way that covers the stains. I haven’t decided.
I will use the boullion stitches in other projects, but I did not enjoy making this and won’t do another Brazilian piece. I usually find hand work relaxing, but not this. It might have been the thread. It required a lot more attention than cotton floss.
I wanted to try this technique for a few years and I’m glad I finally did. Now I can move on to something else.

It turned out very pretty! You challenged yourself…you grew. And now you know more about the materials that you enjoy working with. Or not. 🙂

Gtprat job! You were much smarter than me. I learned how to do the bouillon stitch while I was working on a group challenge quilt. Nompressure there! LOL! I got pretty good at it but jot until I watched a demo on YouTube! It all became clear. I am with you on the thread for the Brazilian embroidery. Way too slippery and finicky, no thanks. Like you said it got tried at least!
