I have some time off this week. Sometimes vacation gets away from me, and I don’t get to everything I want to do. It’s best to avoid that by starting the day in the sewing room.
The zigzag top is together now.

I didn’t have a pattern for this quilt. My Guild put together packets for a charity quilting day in January 2019. My packet had a mix of white and children’s prints. We could sew them however we chose. The squares were either 12 or 12.5 inches.
Most of my prints were red, blue and neutral. I had a few that didn’t fit and I switched them with fabric from my stash that did. I’d seen zigzag layouts before and liked them. It was just a matter of playing with the squares until I got a pattern I liked.
With using the squares in the corner of the borders the number of squares came out perfect.
On to basting and quilting…..
Great top!
It’s really great because you designed it yourself! It’ll look even better when it’s quilted!
Happy Quilting! 🙂
Thanks! I already know how I want to quilt it and will start on it this weekend.
Looking forward to the finish! 🙂
Me too! This one has been hanging around way too long.
Congratulations on finishing the quilt top! It looks great!!
Thanks
Great quilt – congrats on the finish! I do the same with my vacation time, especially this year with nowhere to go! I’ve started making a list the night before time off starts so I can check off things as I get them done – it helps me from lollygagging in front of the tv or iPad for hours!
