No fabric in this week.

I used about a yard of fabric for the borders on the zigzag quilt. I basted the quilt yesterday and will start quilting it today.
I also took a break and sewed up this table runner kit my sister sent me last Christmas.

I used fusible fleece instead of batting. I wanted to use white batting and didn’t have any, plus I wanted enough density that the red plaid back didn’t shadow through. The fleece worked beautifully. I quilted it with a serpentine stitch.
I started it Wednesday morning and finished it Friday afternoon, only because I wasn’t home Wednesday afternoon or Thursday. I think there’s a lesson in there about ditching my project list and working on what speaks to me.

Very cute table runner! I agree that it is important to work on what is calling to you, not just what you “should” be doing. We quilt because we enjoy it, right?
Thanks! You’re right, it’s supposed to be fun. I think sometimes we all forget that.
Sweet table runner! Love it! I agree with Julie…squirrels are good, too! 🙂
Thanks! Glad to have it done in time for the holiday.
Great runner! That, placemats and napkins are on my list since acquiring a new to me dining room table and chairs! Should I be doing lots of other things? Yep! But I want to do something fun! Thanks for the inspiration.

So cute!!!
Thanks!
What a great table runner and a good idea to use the fusible fleece – I do it all the time on bags, but wouldn’t think of it for a table runner!
