Sewing about half the pattern for The Margo Handbag by Lazy Girl Designs was my OMG for April.
I sometimes stall when sewing bags. I like the idea of making them, but sometimes find them fussy and tedious. They tend to take me longer than they should.
That wasn’t the case with The Margo Handbag. The directions were very well written and separated into simple steps. I found it easy to pick up where I left off the night before. I don’t always have a lot of mental power left after working all day. The clearer the instructions, the better.
The pattern was such a joy to sew that I finished the whole bag.

I couldn’t get a good picture because I used a busy print for the lining, but there are pockets all around the inside. Everything has a place, and I never have to dig around looking for things. I love it!
The only change I made to the pattern was to make the straps slightly longer.
I’m linking to Elm Street Quilts for the finish party.
Congratulations on the finish! The bag looks terrific! 🙂
Very nice!
Congratulations on your Margo finish. I love this design. It’s so easy to pick 3 coordinating fabrics and whip up a new purse. I love that all of the interior pockets let me keep everything organized, so I know where it is, and the pockets make switching bags a breeze. I haven’t used any other purse since I sewed my first Margo several years ago. Enjoy your finish!
I love carrying it and can see myself making more of them.
Sweet project.
Thanks!
