We had a whirlwind couple of days. My sister came into town on Tuesday for a two-day visit. Since my sewing room doubles as the guest room, I don’t sew much when we have company. I did, however, get out and about.
Our quest for many things included shoes. I have wide feet, making it difficult finding shoes. We went to four shoe stores on Wednesday that didn’t carry anything but regular width. The owner at one store said the manufacturers have decided to stop making wide and narrow shoes. I never did find shoes, but when I do I’m buying as many pairs as they have in my size.
On the quilting front, we visited The Quilt Patch in Tecumseh and the local Hobby Lobby. I’ve wanted to go to Hobby Lobby since they opened, but I never make in across town on Saturdays. I bought a stencil there. I didn’t buy anything at the Quilt Patch because we ran out of time and had to head back home. I’ll have to go back another day.
While browsing through Ace Hardware I found this angel cookie cutter. Usually the necks are too thin and the heads break off, but this should hold up. To end the day we stopped at The Spotted Cow, where you can enjoy one of 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream. This time I chose blueberry. Mmmmmmmmm…
No road trip is complete without driving home in torrential rain, this time with the added pleasure of hail. Good thing we were close to home!
