The week started normal and then turned into a sick kid, ice storm kind of week. Everything was way harder than it needed to be. Does the Universe get PMS? Seems like.
I am now a full week behind sending out gifts for the Artella Mystery Muse exchange. The person I’m sending to wants to feel happy in 2013. This bookmark is the first of two gifts.
I’ve never made anything like this before, and I’m happy with it. I really hate sewing little gifty things, which means I probably shouldn’t do swaps like this. It’s good to step out of your comfort zone though. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, or so they say.
I fussy cut the letters and motifs out of fabric left over from a baby quilt. The fabric had kittens romping and playing all over it. Nothing says happy like playing kittens.
On to gift #2, which will be much more my style.
